Amendment Two and It's Meaning

Amendment two

A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Amendment two.. a tricky one. Amendment two has always been a big controversy about whether a person agrees with it or doesn't. With all of the recent shooting and terrorist attacks on innocent civilians, people become skeptic about how easy it is to own a gun. In this case, I side with Hilary's point of view on this amendment; yes, this amendment is important and should never be erased, but the government has the right to put regulations on it in order to protect public safety. I fully agree with this because I think that safety comes first, and guns should only be in the hands of responsible and good people. Background checks are a must. All in all, I believe that people have the right to protect themselves, but there should be certain regulations to make sure that these guns don't get into the hands of the wrong people. For the protection of the people, responsible owners have the right and can put these guns to use to protect themselves or maybe even others in a situation of attack or terror. I believe that guns are not the problem, people are.

I chose this video, not because he is FOR guns completely, but because he seems to be concerned with the safety of the people. I agree with what he says and I like that the main focus is our own safety. This amendment is such an intricate and delicate subject that it is hard for me to make my thoughts on it fully clear. This video shares how I feel on the subject in a broad view. People have the full right to protect themselves.

This is the most perfect political cartoon on my views of the second amendment. BACKGROUN CHECKS, and even further safety steps beyond that to make sure guns do not get in the wrong hands. PEOPLE are the problem, they pull the trigger. The way I interpret this picture may be different than the way others do, but for me; background checks are important.
