The third amendment goes back to a time where the country needed this protection substantially. It was created because of the many soldiers staying in houses during a war. As we know now, this does not happen in America (hasn't for awhile, although it could).
This amendment, to be quite honest, is not one that I care for. I can see in some wild instance where it could be useful and could mean something to me, but this is not something that I exercise everyday or need protection from every day. I cannot deny that it could be important some day or in the situation of a war, but as a citizen I do not personally care for it.
I am horribly sorry that this video is not that of great quality at all. It was the only video I could find that spoke to my meaning of this amendment and my views on it. It gives us an example of where this amendment would be important, but then it goes to explain that it is not as important today as it was in the times of war on our home front. Because of this, it is not needed as much as it was yesterday.
I chose this political cartoon from http://imgarcade.com/1/third-amendment-political-cartoons/ because it opened my eyes up a slight bit to show me, that if war ever did come back to our home front, I would be very happy with the third amendment. The picture shows a soldier telling the house owner to "take cover", now that would be scary!
